Star Hawk was founded in 2018 by two horticulture graduates who noticed a gap in the Australian market: people wanted indoor plants but lacked the knowledge or time to keep them alive.
From Hobby to Profession
What began as weekend plant rescue missions for friends quickly grew into a legitimate business. Our founders, Emma Chen and Marcus Webb, combined their backgrounds in botany and interior design to create a service that treats plants as living design elements rather than disposable decor.
Today, Star Hawk serves over 400 residential clients and 85 commercial accounts across Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. Our team has grown to include 12 certified horticulturists, each specialising in different aspects of indoor plant care.
What Guides Us
Plant Welfare First
We never recommend a plant that won't thrive in a client's environment. Honesty about limitations prevents wasted money and disappointment.
Education Over Dependence
While our maintenance services are popular, we actively teach clients to care for their plants independently if they prefer.
Local and Sustainable
We source from Australian nurseries whenever possible and prioritise plants that don't require excessive resources to maintain indoors.
Accessible Expertise
Botanical knowledge shouldn't feel intimidating. We explain plant science in plain language so clients understand the "why" behind care instructions.
